Warner Bros. Pictures Animation arrived at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival with a bold message: the era of canceled releases and corporate caution may be coming to an end. In this episode, we break down WBPA’s ambitious new feature slate, from The Cat in the Hat and Bad Fairies to Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, Prehistoria, Margie Claus, Dynamic Duo, Hello Kitty, and The Lunar Chronicles.
We also discuss the newly announced Powerpuff Girls movie, potential future projects involving Tom and Jerry, ThunderCats, and Meerkats, and whether Bye Bye Bunny could eventually return.
On the Looney Tunes front, we take a closer look at Daffy Season, the first theatrical Looney Tunes short in more than a decade, which will play before The Cat in the Hat. Cartoon Network Shows: What a Cartoon! Series featured pilots forJohnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, The Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Mike, Lu & Og. The network also had popular original programming like Ed, Edd n Eddy, Samurai Jack, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and Codename: Kids Next Door. From Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Daffy Season a Looney Tunes short film. Daffy is ready for Duck Season, but Elmer is too immersed in his new obsession – soccer – to come hunting. Slowly the world around Daffy turns into a zombie-esque nightmare as the Tunes become obsessed with the sport.
