Mutiny on the Bounty (1935)
OSCAR WINNER: Best Picture -
Synopsis: The Bounty is on a mission in the South Seas. The brutal and arrogant Captain Bligh (Charles Laughton in an Oscar-nominated performance) becomes antagonized by the genteel manner of the First Officer Christian Fletcher (Clark Gable, who was also nominated for the "Best Actor" Oscar). While in Tahiti, the men of The Bounty are seduced by the gentle beauty of the island and its women. Nominated for 8 Academy Awards and winning for "Best Picture," this 1935 vigorous retelling of a true historic incident about a British ship commandeered from its brutal master, remains a cinematic classic.

(Eric voices Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety and many more in the Looney Tunes Cartoons on HBOMAX)
Eric and I journey into the past to discover what it takes to voice such an iconic character and how exactly did Bugs become the immature rabbit we know today!

In this week's episode, Dave Lee (Youtube.com/daveleedownunder) joins in the fun to discuss the recent "contwoversy" surrounding the NO GUN policy within the Looney Tunes Cartoons. Plus, we take a look into an episode of the new series featuring Elmer Fudd without a gun, Sylvester and Tweety on Ice and a Road-Runner short to review just how brilliant it is. These are the episodes we watched from The Looney Tunes Cartoons! (Pain in the Ice, Tunnel Vision, Pool Bunny) We also discuss the latest character reveal in the Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem game, Revenant Road-Runner!
Looney Tunes Cartoons Controversy: No Guns!
This news has taken the nation by storm, even though it really shouldn't have as there are many, many more pressing issues to be concerned about. But Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam will not be sporting their fire arms in this new series and I, for one and perfectly ok with that.
Pain in the Ice - Tweety and Sylvester are at it again and this time, it's on ice. The gags and execution here are strong and quick leading to many memorable moments and surprises. I really enjoyed the character work in this and the way the team utilized the setting to its full potential. Starring Tweety (Eric Bauza), Sylvester the Cat (Jeff Bergman) and Granny (Candi Milo).
3.5/5 Carrots!
Tunnel Vision - A Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner short based around the classic gag of painting a road on the side of a rock.
The water color backgrounds and amazing animation of its central characters stand out strong in this outing, but it's the creative spin they put on the gag that make it stand a cut above.
3/5 Carrots!
Pool Bunny - When Bugs Bunny (Eric Bauza) travels to the desert during a heat wave, its Elmer Fudd's (Jeff Bergman) pool that becomes the prime vacationing location. The two have such grand chemistry and the way the comedy just rolls off of their vitriol is palpable. The gags come fast and furious and each one elevates the picture as a whole. BRING THE KIDS!
"Of Course You Realize... You know."
4.5/5 Carrots
Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem New:
Revenant Road Runner!
ACME Commercial: ACME Drinking Fountain!
Did you agree or disagree about the gun policy in place? Does this tarnish any part of Elmer Fudd or Yosemite Sam for you? Do you have HBO MAX? What were your thoughts on the shorts we discussed?

In this week's episode, Matt Jacobs joins to review the first publically released episode of The Looney Tunes Cartoons! (Boo! Appetweet, Plunger, Bubble Dum) We also discuss the importance of having a storyboard driven room for the shorts in the reboot and then we play a game to see if we can identify defining traits of some of the iconic characters within the series!
The creativity shown in this series so far is so promising and respectful to the source material that it's hard not to love what these individual teams are doing with these cherished characters.
Boo! Appetweet - A short starring Tweety (Eric Bauza), Sylvester the Cat (Jeff Bergman) and Granny (Candi Milo).
This short has references to Ghostbusters and A Christmas Carol, which makes this an instant classic! 3.5/5 Carrots!
Plunger - A musically driven short featuring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd where Elmer tries to suck Bugs out of his hole via usage of a plunger.
The water color backgrounds and amazing animation of its central characters make this a work of art that can be enjoyed by all ages. I wish it was a bit longer because the premise is so strong, but that's a minor gripe. 2.5/5 Carrots!
Bubble Dum - When Daffy Duck (Eric Bauza) accidentally steps on a piece of street bubblegum that he previously chewed, he pulls out all the stops to get it off.
Did you play the description game along with us? How did you do? Were there any descriptors you would add to those main characters that we missed? I understand that the Looney Tunes are more similar to actors than specific character types, but there are certain constants that you can point at and that's what we aimed to do.

In this week's episode, Chris Bucca Taylor (@ZeitChrist) joins to review the film, Scoob! as well as deep diving into Warner Brother crossovers! We also examine the latest Looney Tunes Cartoons, Wet Cement and Tunnel Vision!
Scoob! is the first film in the WAG (Warner Animation Group) Hannah Barbera Universe of movies. Expect more from this series, if Scoob! has a positive reception on VOD this month.
Scoob! is available now on VOD!
Wet Cement - A short starring Porky Pig (Bob Bergen) and Daffy Duck (Eric Bauza).
This short is really fun and has an incredibly respectful homage in the form of Daffy holding the hand of Tex Avery, one of the original Looney Tunes directors from Termite Terrace.
Wet Cement: 3.5/5 Carrots!
Tunnel Vision - A quick bumper short featuring Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.
We just love the new designs of these characters!
Tunnel Vision: 4 out of 5 Carrots!
The Looney Tunes Cartoons are set to premiere on HBOMax May 27th!
Along with Looney Tunes, Rick and Morty will also be available on HBOMax and there is a really fun call out to Bugs Bunny in The Vat of Acid Episode.
