On this week's podcast, I'm joined by a very good friend and talented freelance writer, Tamara Brooks to pose our opinions on the Friz Freleng's adaptions of Robert Louis Stevenson's sinister work; Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as Halloween Season winds down. And being big DC fans, we discuss the latest news regarding James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over lead roles at DC Studios for Warner Brothers! We also discuss the recent layoff at Cartoon Network as the Discovery/WB merger continues to take shape.
News comes our way courtesy of Deadline; that James Gunn and Peter Safran will lead the DC film and tv division going forward for their superhero properties. I think this is a strong move in the right direction to correct the current trajectory the DCEU was on and with the stellar success of Black Adam it appears there is a lot of fans that want more from their beloved superheroes over there.

On this week's podcast, I'm honored to host Julie and Tim Cahill, the creative team behind Carrotblanca (1995) as well as writers on multiple landmark Looney Tunes projects within the Looniverse! Julie is also the very first female to write on a WB produced project with these characters!
Join me as we dive deep into the rabbit hole and travel through their lurid careers; no left turns in Albuquerque here!
CARROTBLANCA CONCEPT ART:
Can you believe this film came out of a whimsical conversation between Tim and Julie as they watched Casablanca on one of their first dates!? What a story! What a Legacy!
CARROTBLANCA NEWSPAPER CLIPPING:
It was almost attached to Batman Returns, but WB wanted it to elevate a lesser known film to help boost it's Box Office. Here in the US, it was attached to Amazing Panda Adventure. In the UK, it was attached to Pebble and the Penguin!
TWEETY as USMARTE
Uncanny Canary!
BABY LOONEY TUNES CONCEPT ART!
So CUTE, but we all know who they grow up to be! :D
HIT OR MISSUS (Unproduced Looney Tunes Movie)
What a project this could have been. I truly hope we can circle back to this in the future.
TOM AND JERRY CONCEPT ART FOR THE KARATE GUARD
Who doesn't love the cat and mouse game; with samurai!
Looney Tunes Projects Discussed:
Carrotblanca (1995) Dir. Douglas McCarthy; Written by Tim & Julie Cahill - Parody of Carrotblanca!
Tweety's High Flying Adventure (2000) Written by Tim & Julie Cahill and Tom Miinton.

Mini Review: The Haunted Garage - Bugs Bunny Builders Halloween Treat!
Friday Oct 28, 2022
Friday Oct 28, 2022
Hey Folks!
We were treated to a surprise yesterday as Cartoonito dropped a brand new Halloween short just before the end of spooky season and it's filled with Easter Eggs to the larger Looniverse!
The bite-sized short is only 3 minutes long and unlike the usual fair from this series, non of the character create any conflict that prevents them getting the job done so this is just for fun!
It starts with a Transylvania 6-5000 reference with the backdrop design appearing visually similar to that of Count Bloodcount! Then we get those magic words by Lola, "AbraCadabra" and BAM, a bat with a top hat drops down! This is a direct visual homage to what Count Bloodcount looks like in Bat form.
When Tweety flies in dressed as a ghost, he spooks Sylvester and I took this to be a reference to Boo Appetweet! The Looney Tunes Cartoons short released in the first batch of shorts way back in 2020.
Then the jobs are dished out and the rest of the costumes are revealed.
Porky is dressed as a pumpkin; this is for a gag later on that made me laugh out loud. Wile E. is dressed as the scarecrow, "If I only had a brain." Lola is a magician, making the Halloween magic happen. Bugs Bunny is dressed as Witch Hazel and later in the episode appears with the mask he wore in Broomstick Bunny; the "Ugliest" Witch of all! Petunia is dressed as a Astronaut and that's just silly. AND DAFFY IS BATMAN!
During his candy check, he has the line, "Taste Tested and Bat-Duck Approved!" The utterance of BatDuck is a verbal reference to when Plucky Duck dressed as Batman in Tiny Toon Adventures! What a callback!
The citizens of Looniburg show up as their costumes are equally as adorable. Pussyfoot is dressed as dracula, Hippity is dressed as a pirate AND EGGHEAD IS DRESSED AS A GREMLIN FROM FALLING HARE!!! SO COOL!
Unlike the other entries, the Looney Builders have no problem getting these trick or treaters their tasty candy making it just a sugar filled outing and a ultra cute one at that.
Bugs wearing this mask from Broomstick Bunny is just an excellent homage and truly inspired me to make this blog for those that might miss it this holiday season!
You can watch this one right now on Youtube at the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuhjE982oLE
Be sure to watch the shorts mentioned as well or introduce them to the kids for additional cartoon treats this Halloween!
Comment with your favorite homage in this and what's your favorite Looney Tunes Halloween short?!

Witch Hazel is BACK!
Candi Milo does an impeccable job at stepping into this role made popular by June Foray and does it with panache! I am very much looking forward to this character having many more appearances.
Porky and Sylvester!
I'm ecstatic to say that the Porky/Sylvester pairing still works beautifully and one of the things I wanted to point out to fans is that when Sylvester is Porky's pet cat, he doesn't speak. This adds to the tension of the horror surrounding their adventures.
We recommend this special to old and new fans of Looney Tunes alike, but while we're glad we are being challenged with this comedic content, it won't be for everyone.
Let us know what you think in the comments! What was your favorite short?

Hello Folks!
Welcome to your best source of news surrounding the beloved Looney Tunes!
For this episode, I'm Joelle Monique Returns to try and convince me yet again, that The Looney Tunes Show is excellent, while we look into current events surrounding WBD (Warner Bros/Discovery) and who Tina Russo and subsequently Melissa Duck are! Do you know?
Who will purchase this series?
Batman: Caped Crusader is an animated reimagining of the Batman mythology by way of Batman: The Animated Series‘ own Bruce Timm, with J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Ed Brubaker also serving as EPs. Reeves of course directed The Batman, the big screen’s most recent live-action take on the Dark Knight (now played by Robert Pattinson), while Abrams — in addition to of course numerous Star Trek and Star Wars projects, plus TV’s Lost and Alias — is an EP on HBO Max’s still-in-development Justice League Dark series.

That’s NOT All Folks!
Thursday Aug 25, 2022
Thursday Aug 25, 2022
Hello Folks!
Welcome to your best source of news surrounding the beloved Looney Tunes!
For this episode, I'm joined by Long Time Looney Tunes' Fan, Comedian and Rotten Tomatoes Correspondent, Mark Ellis to discuss the latest happenings over at Warner Bros/Discovery and break down the storytelling convention of Breaking the 4th Wall in film, Tv and Podcasting?!
We start off with the news that broke via TvLine.com!
The following projects are NOW in need of being purchased to stream and my bet is on Hulu.
MERRY LITTLE BATMAN
In this animated family action comedy, when a six-year-old Damian Wayne finds himself alone in Wayne Manor, he must transform into “Little Batman” in order to defend his home and Gotham City from the crooks and super-villains intent on destroying Christmas. Mike Roth executive-produces and directs, from a screenplay by Morgan Evans.
THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP
In this animated movie penned by Kevin Costello, odd couple Porky and Daffy become unlikely heroes when their antics at a local bubble gum factory uncover a secret alien mind-control plot. Against all odds, the two grow determined to save their town — and the world. Pete Browngardt serves as executive producer.
- Writer Kevin Costello recently took to Twitter to tell fans that the film is coming together nicely and that it lives up to the brand as only a Daffy and Porky film can!
BYE BYE BUNNY
The first-ever Looney Tunes Original animated movie musical boasts a screenplay and lyrics by Emmy Award winner Ariel Dumas, a head writer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (and a huge Looney Tunes fan). The premise: After starring in a long-running Looney Tunes Broadway production, an exhausted Bugs Bunny decides it’s time to trade in sold-out shows for life as a regular rabbit. That opens the door for the attention-craving Daffy Duck to bid for the lead role — until he is kidnapped by an obsessive fan who has sinister plans for her favorite stage duck.
THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL: THE MOVIE
Series creator Ben Bocquelet is directing and executive-producing this movie, which features a script written by Shane Mack and is designed to serve as a bridge between the original cult animated fantasy series (which ran six seasons on Cartoon Network, from 2011-2019) and the new one, which is titled The Amazing World of Gumball: The Series (and is also still happening).
The yet-to-be titled movie begins when Gumball’s biggest fan finds the series’ “missing episode” and accidentally opens a portal connecting his world to Gumball’s cartoon world.
Sam Register, Vanessa Brookman and Sarah Fell will also serve as executive producers on the first original production to be ordered from Register and Brookman’s Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
Did I Do That To the Holidays: A Steve Urkel Story
This animated musical holiday special, written and executive-produced by Wyatt Cenec, and announced in September 2021, finds Jaleel White reprising his legendary nerd character for only the second time since Family Matters ended in 1998.
FILMS Discussed:
"Annie Hall"
“American Psycho”
“Fight Club”
"Monty Python"
“Spaceballs"
"Wayne's World"
“Ferris Bueller's Day Off”
“High Fidelity”
“Amélie”
"Fleabag"
"She-Hulk"
Looney Tunes Shorts Discussed:
Duck Amuck - (1953)
Rabbits Rampage - (1955)
Hare Raising Hare - (1946)
The Scarlett Pumpernickel (1950)
(You can find these shorts on HBOMax... for now)
